Episode 12: The Life & Times of Tim Rogers and You Am I; reviews of Todd Snider and Guster

The Stage Banter team previews a show we're sponsoring at Columbia Street West in downtown Fort Wayne, IN on Wednesday, August 23 — it's Melbourne, Australia's TnT, Tex Perkins (Beasts of Bourbon, Cruel Sea) and Tim Rogers (You Am I). Meet us there. Tim's a hero of Banterer Matt Kelley and we dedicate the bulk of this show to giving an all-too-brief overview of Tim's career (trust us, Matt wanted this episode to be a box set). We also review the new releases from Todd Snider (The Devil You Know) and Guster (Ganging Up on the Sun).

The Snider record is the best album of the year, until September 12, when Dan Reeder's new album 'SWEETHEART' comes out. I have heard this record, and it is AMAZING.

Ahead of next week's TnT show at C-Street in Fort Wayne, anyone care to throw out their top three shows all time at that venue. Mine...

1. 3 lb Thrill (formerly Uncle Green)
2. Birdmen of Alcatraz
3. Mysteries of Life

(all were mid-90's)

Mid 90's...I was in diapers. Not really.

I may have had hair under my arms at that point. Maybe.

The Dylan Tribute was probably my favorite before last nights BOTB. I fully expect T'N'T to take the crown until I can get Malkmus here.

...cant wait to hear the mewithout you, although, I'm hoping Ryan Adams has the album of the year up his sleeve for the 4th time (HEARTBREAKER, GOLD, COLD ROSES ... and maybe even STRANGERS ALMANAC).
