Raised in the shadow of Fort Wayne’s most celebrated moustache, Greg spent his formidable years in art rooms, at campgrounds, and of course, on baseball diamonds. Still a huge fan of the ball cap lifestyle, Greg spent over a year begging every local music store this side of On The Boulevard for a job until finally finding his personal guru (local legend, Jim Dart) at age 17. After nine years of music store management work, Greg hit the lotto when he obtained a full time position at the whatzup mansion. His last name will remain “Locke” until further notice.

Apathetic? Lackadaisical? Nope, that’s just his modus operandi. A mild-mannered Pavement by definition, Greg realized sometime during his seven semesters as an art student that writing about music was nearly as fun as listening to it. While volunteering at Bloomington’s wonderful WIUS student radio station, Mr. Locke was fortunate enough to have his writing published by an independent ‘zine. This small-time venture led him to freelance work with the Indiana Daily Student and eventually whatzup upon his return to Fort Wayne. Greg has written over 300 album reviews, most of which he hates. Please, please, please e-mail him at beatmisner@aim.com.

Greg would also like to mention that he is a member of Sean Smith’s Matt Kelley Fan Club. He also strongly feels that Ess might be the funniest man to shave [only] once per month since Andy Kaufman.
